“Service is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time.” — Marian Wright Edelman

Chartered in April 1988, the Metro-Manhattan (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is an organization of women of color who are committed to empowering and serving the Greater Harlem community through meaningful programming initiatives and collaborative relationships in the New York City area. Our volunteer efforts are focused on:

  • Mentoring and developing young people through enrichment and college-readiness programs
  • Expanding health and wellness knowledge
  • Supporting arts education and local cultural institutions
  • Developing and promoting the leadership capabilities of women

Furthermore, we support the humanitarian and infrastructure needs of nations throughout the African Diaspora.

Our community service initiatives are focused around five subject areas which are the following: the Arts; Services to Youth; Health and Human Services; National Trends; and International Trends. Additionally, we have an overarching umbrella project, which is supported by each of the facets.

We see no boundaries in our ability to have an impact and make a difference.
